as I lay here Songkran is hiccuping, it’s funny to feel them, but right now it’s nice.
It all started two days ago. We went to the Drs for a regular checkup. We had a ultrasound done because this Dr likes ultrasounds. He listen to the heartbeat in that was normal and he was looking around and everything looked good he told us it was probably about 2.8 kg and that it probably about three by the time it was born. The dr then switched to a red and blue viewing I guess to see the blood flow. He became quiet as he looked and then told us the umbilical cord was wrapped around the babies neck. He suggested a c-section in the next few days.
Internally I’m freaking out a little bit, but we decided to talk to our Doula in the states and go to another doctor for second opinion and said of planning the c-section. Our doula said that we can still give birth naturally. So that calmed our fears till we could talk to another Dr. which we had scheduled an appointment for the following day at Bangkok hospital.
We met with the same dr we had seen before and explained what we were told. She said that there isn’t really anything to be done until labor. Then if the babies heart rate goes down they will do a c-section. To calm our fears and just to double check on every thing we monitored the baby for a half hour, and did another ultrasound. Their ultrasound did show the cord across the neck but they can’t be sure that it is wrapped around the neck it could just be behind the shoulder or something. To make sure everything is going smoothly I am to count movement, and go in twice a week to monitor the baby. So here is to hoping the baby will be born healthy in the next two weeks!
